Summary from Goodreads
It's Wait for You as you've never seen it. Trust in Me lets you in on Cam's side of the #1 New York Times bestselling story.
Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life--literally--he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam's not ready to give up. He can't get the feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.
Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. Will persistence (and some delicious homemade cookies) help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery's life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?

Hello Cameron Hamilton!
Trust in Me is my very first Jennifer L. Armentrout book. I own a couple of her young adult titles and have even started Obsidian but it somehow ended up on the back burner as I got busy with other things. I picked up Trust in Me because of the recent buzz surrounding her new release to this series, and with so many of my friends enjoying her books, I wanted to give it a shot.
Boy I was not disappointed! Armentrout can write, really write. I found myself pulled into her story and it wouldn't let me go. It kind of felt like I was prying into these people's private life, an onlooker on the sidelines following their every movement and thought. Being inside of Cameron's head was exhilirating. I absolutely loved him. He was fierce and loyal and the amount of passion he had for Avery made me want to fan myself every time he thought of her, which was very often.
Cameron meets Avery at school when she runs him over in the hallway to class, literally. He immediately gives her a nickname in his head, Shortcake! I loved that he called her Shortcake! Literally made this story so much more endearing, especially with Cameron's past and his personality. Every time he called her that, I found myself giggling.
He is inexplicably drawn to the red head, but finds that she wants nothing to do with him and keeps hiding within her shell. Of course for Cameron he takes it as a challenge and finds himself very involved in his pursuit for the girl that keeps right on shutting him down. With the damage ego or not Cameron is relentless, but his ego is not the only thing he puts in the line. Something is holding Avery back, something had made her into this shy and jumpy girl she is today, and Cameron wants to know her inside and out.
Loved the storyline, couldn't put it down. Loved Cameron and the length he went to get her attention. The humor of his voice and thoughts was fun and exciting! The romance blooms through the book, even when Chemistry is there to begin with the tension and the connection hits you full force almost at the end of the book. The book had it's joyful moments that made me laugh, and sweet moments that touched my heart. It of course also had the sad moments that made me want to squeeze the both of them to my heart. I really loved this due. I did not realize that this is 1.5 and when I picked it up I thought it was a novella, but with 352 pages under it's belt? Either way, now I will have to go find the other two!

I have read Wait for You long ago and I did like the story. I mean Cam is hard not to like. You get me there :) But I don't think I'll be reading this one. I mean I like Cam and all that but books told in different POV never work for me. Great review, Lily :)
ReplyDeleteyou know I read some books by this author a while ago,her PNR stories but I confess I haven't tried all her recent works but I heard so many great things about them, like your review and I really should try them now!
ReplyDeleteI have book one on my list and you have just reminded me why i bought it..bumping it up and adding this one..Awesome review Lily!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've read anything by this author but I was eye balling this one the other day. Glad to see it was good!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to read one of her adult novels and it sounds like I really need to rectify that soon!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of her adult books but I usually enjoy her YA books. Sometimes the characters drive me nuts, but somehow I love them anyway. Glad you loved your first experience with her!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like such a touching and sweet story I really want to read it !!(: great review!
ReplyDeleteYou picked a good book for your first Armentrout read. I actually enjoyed this one more than the first. Cam is the best! I can't wait to read Be With Me.
ReplyDeleteGreat review!
Ooh, this Cameron fellow sounds adorable! I love JLA, she's a terrific storyteller. My first experience with one of her NA novels was when I read Frigid a while ago--it was awesome & quite saucy! Glad to hear you loved Trust In Me. I haven't started this series yet but I will definitely have to soon! Lovely review, Lily! =D
ReplyDeleteOh excellent! I have her YA books too and just never got to them. Will definitely give this one a read. Thank ya for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so glad you loved Trust in Me, Lily! I haven't read this series but I've read other books by JLA and I agree...she gal can write! ;) Thanks for sharing a wonderful review. I can't wait to meet Cam now! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love Cam so much as well and I agree that he is passionate and Jennifer can write. I do feel like her ideas aren't that original though and that her writing saves the predictability quite a lot at times. I wonder what you would have thought of the book if you had read Avery's POV first. I will definitely read Cam's side of things someday and I'm so glad you enjoyed, Lily! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I didn't exactly read your review, because I have this book on my kindle, and I haven't had time to read it yet... I'm very happy to see your four hearts, though :) I am pretty sure I'm gonna love Trust in Me, too.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading.
