Summary from Goodreads

Ellen’s figured out that finding the right guy is all about compatibility. That’s why she’s signed up for Detailed Dating—the local online dating scene in Sacramento. Learning men’s preferences up front, plus a few weeks of email correspondence, has resulted in two candidates she’s excited to meet in person.

When Ellen’s best friend asks her to baby-sit her beloved pooch, dog-sitting leads to disaster and Ellen ends up at the local vet where she meets a man she can’t stop thinking about. Henry isn’t a logical choice, but Ellen suddenly finds herself signing up for a week-long doggy class to spend more time with him.

Now, Ellen has a choice: Go with one of the logical choices or let herself fall for the one man her heart seems to want.

Watching her mother go through a couple of failed marriages, Elle had figured out that the key to finding the right guy for oneself is through compatibility. That was also what the site Detailed Dating promised when she signed up. After going through initial screening, she had found two men that just might be the right guy for her.

Everything was going great until she is forced to watch her best friends dog. When Ella believed the dog is choking due to eating something from her purse, she takes him to the Vet only to stumble into an Obedience class for dogs and a very handsome guy named Henry who had just saved the little pups life. Now Henry tests all logical that she had set out for herself when it comes to love and finding the right man.

Cute quick read. It was a short story, which was sad really but I did thor
oughly enjoy it! It was done in first person, in this case we get into Ella's mind and I did enjoy her tone. I thought she was funny and amusing. I think I also understand where she was coming from with the way she had approached dating and meeting the right man. Of course Ella learns that nothing is always what it seems and that compatibility is only a small part of meeting the right person. It was entertaining watching Ella go through the dates and how each and one of them had thought of something about love that she did not know before.

I did really like Henry, of course I was with Ella on the same page when he wouldn't answers her questions they way she wanted them too. But at the same time, Ella evaded direct questions as he had evaded giving her direct answers. Still, there was attraction between them and the gift he gave her was quiet thoughtful!

Sure this book has a bit of an insta-love theme going on, but it's forgivable as it really was just a quick, clean adult romance. Quiet enjoyable that left a smile on my face.

Summary from Goodreads

Jennifer Haymore introduced sweet, but shy Lady Esme in The Duchess Hunt, the first novel in her House of Trent Series. But what readers may not know is that proper young Lady Esme has a secret: the youngest sister of the Duke of Trent privately pens erotic stories!

Society would never allow Lady Esme to share her own work, so her friend Jennifer Haymore is here to help—and just in time for Christmas!

His for Christmas is the steamy story of two travelers who find themselves stranded in an inn when an unexpected snowstorm blankets the English countryside. As the temperature drops, desire rises and the two strangers share a night of passion unlike anything either has ever experienced. When dawn breaks and the storm clears, will they continue on thier seperate journeys, or will they begin a new path together?

A sweet quick Christmas novella "written" by the Lady Esme from Jennifer Haymore's first book in the House of Trent series.

Traveling to her family for Christmas, Lady Amelia never expected to be stranded in a middle of a snowstorm in a small inn with a ghost from the her childhood past. Evan had always loved Amelia but because she was the Earls daughter, the young gentleman did not think he stood a chance after he told his mother of his intentions and she laughed at him.

On the night of his party Amelia overheard some cruel words that sent her heart shattering and she never wanted to see Evan again....until they met again the day before Christmas.

Cute, very quick read. Never read anything by Jennifer Haymore before so this was an introduction to the author for me as well. I did enjoy her storytelling, despite having so many love scenes in the beginning of the book. That doesn't bother me, I was just a little saddened that the book ended at about 60% and the rest was a sneak peak to her other book.

I did feel bad for Amelia and what she had to go through. I was glad that she did later find out the true meaning behind Evan's cruel words that night that she had overheard him talking to the other two young man. It did melt my heart a little to see how much he cared for her, especially with what he did in her defense at the end of the book!

This really was a very enjoyable historical Christmas novella!
